In the summer of 2005 I decided that I wanted a
permanent setup for my scope and stuff. So I started digging. It is solid
rock below about 30cm. of dirt and grass. I plan to drill 4-5 holes in the
rock for the reinforcement bars and use a wire like steel reinforcement in
the concrete to prevent shifting from the rock. We are also going to glue
the concrete to the rock with "rĝlpe" (norwagian).

| |
The finished platting will
be approximately in the same height as the
grass. |
| |
This is due North. I can see Polaris just to the
left of the tree. |
| |
The 4,5" metal KDpier 2
from Ken Dauzat is
solid and 54" tall. Detachable legs with leveling screws. |
| |
I am going to fill the pier innside with sand. |
| |
Detachable top plate for GP-DX mount. |
Iron ready for binding, holes drilled in the rock
in each corner and inserted iron / glue. The glue
"rĝlpe" is a thin cement mix and concrete is
added on top before the glue sets. |
Time to fill pier with sand and level the pier. |
Inserted a little plastic box that fitted the tube
diameter. I just press this down to it stops against the leg screws (see
above pic). This will hold the sand inside the pier I hope.
Pier ready and filled with sand. Time to fine
adjust north and secure pier from accidental bumping when building the
shed. |
- Things starting to shape up. Trying to find a easy way to make the
roof slide.
- The shed is made by the Finnish company with the
easy name
Luoman Puutuote and
the shed has the name Yukon. It is 2 meters long and 1,8 meters wide.
Roof mounted and ready I hope. It is supported by six
15mm weels (3 each side) with a capacity limitation on 25 kg each. The
minimum weels I could find cheep to keep the roof near to the walls.
Side view with the roof still closed, will it open I
wonder? I will consider to build an X to support the extension at the rear
support columns, but not if I dont have to ;) |
Front boards had to be cut to make place for the
framwork when I push back the roof. |
Same at the back. The board covering the gap in the
middle of the pic keeps the rain and snow out. |
And we have an opening. |
Roof closed. |
Roof open. This is going to be heaven for me! |
